Up Close  premiered December 2-3, 2005 as part of the Next>> program at Velocity Dance Center in Seattle.

Up Close focuses on aspects of space and relationship. Constructed as a series of portraits of relationships, Up Close features five dancers, tight, gritty partnering and full-scale, space-devouring ensemble images that explore proximity, intimacy, distortion and candor. The dynamic marriage of intimacy and environment is supported by simple, full-stage video projection.

Up Close represents a continuation of CSDG’s commitment to creating unabashed abstract work that is both emotionally and visually current. Up Close is slated for further development in Fall 2006.
